Staff are friendly and helpful. We liked the traditional Japanese style accommodation, and variety of coffee and tea provided. Staff helped with setting up the futon while we had dinner. Breakfast and Dinner were included, and were very good with variety of choices. I chose to pay extra for the 2nd night to upgrade dinner to a different restaurant, which has a different set up and different dishes. We enjoyed the happy hours as well, children loved the cake / snacks / tea / hot choc while I tried different alcoholic drinks. The Onsen were good and not heavily packed during the days we stayed. For people who want to try the private onsen, make sure you book early in order to secure you a convenient time. (I booked quite late, the choices were 1am, 2am or 8am). We also tried the outdoor Onsen, the view and feel would be amazing if it is during cherry blossom or during snow season.

The staff was excellent and kind! For example, we asked one gentleman to book a taxi for us to Otaru. He said it would take 40-50 minutes for the taxi to arrive so we told him we would use the time to go outside and take some pictures. We then left our luggage with him at the front desk and went outside to enjoy the beautiful morning. 40 minutes later, we rushed back to see our taxi waiting for us in front of the hotel. As we went inside to collect our luggage, the front desk gentleman informed us that he had already taken the liberty to load our extremely heavy luggage into the taxi! Unbelievable service and kindness! The one restaurant we went to (K) was delicious and worthwhile. We didn't go to the other ones that were extra charge but we were extremely satisfied with the dinner and breakfast provided!

Hotel Suizantei is a beautiful onsen/ryokan. Even though it is an older hotel, it is very well kept. There are several onsen areas for men and women to bath in as well as a private tub on the roof which can be booked for 45-minute sessions. If you are fortunate enough, you can even book a room with it's own onsen tub in the room. Both dinner and breakfast were very well prepared and were very delicious. Before and after each meal, there were beverages and freshly made snacks available in the lounge area. After dinner, they even had beer, sake and other spirits available in the lounge for everyone to enjoy. If we go up to Sapporo again, we will definitely go back to Hotel Suizantei.

This was one of the best hotels I've stayed in Japan. The rooms are beautiful, spacious yet cozy. The private onsen in the bathroom was absolutely divine, not to mention the property also has indoor and outdoor onsens attached (both great). The futons were like sleeping on clouds and we had one of the best night's sleep of our lives. The dinner at the restaurant was a delicious and wonderful experience. The guest lounge on the ground floor was also a great place to relax and refresh. I wish I had stayed more than one night.

Loved everything about this hotel! The English -speaking staff were exceedingly helpful especially Ziggy who advised us about the hotel amenities, about a special seasonal event in the town, about meal and onsen scheduling, and mostly welcomed us and made us feel very much at home. We enjoyed the extra snacks and drinks available in the lounge. The meals were superb kaiseki cuisine. We.felt pampered throughout our stay. It is a beautiful property.tbat was a pleasure to enjoy..
